Measurement results are more reliable when using an integrating sphere to measure luminous flux, which reduces and eliminates measurement errors caused by the shape of the light, the angle of divergence, and the difference in responsivity at different locations on the detector.


The basic structure of the integrating sphere is an inner hollow sphere made of aluminum or plastic lamps. The inner wall of the sphere is uniformly sprayed with multiple layers of neutral diffusing materials, such as magnesium oxide, barium sulfate, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. There are many holes on the top of the sphere, which are used as incident light holes, installation detectors, and light source lamps. In order to prevent incident light from hitting the detector, a shielding screen is also installed in the sphere.
