Vegetation has different absorption and reflection spectral characteristics in different wavelength bands. In the visible light band, chlorophyll absorption peaks are found in two bands with central wavelengths of 0.45 μm (blue) and 0.65 μm (red), and there is a reflection peak near 0.54 μm (green). In the mid-infrared phase of the spectrum, the spectral response of green plants is dominated by the strong absorption bands of water near 1.4 μm, 1.9 μm and 2.7 μm.



Plants: In the blue light band (0.38~0.50μm), the reflectivity is low, and the midpoint of the green light band (0.50~0.60μm) is about 0.55μm, forming a small reflectance peak, which is why the leaves of plants are green. In the red light band (0.60~0.76μm), the reflectivity is very low at first, reaches a trough near 0.65μm, and then rises again, and the reflectivity rises steeply at 0.70~0.80μm, reaching a peak near 0.80μm. Green plants have a series of unique spectral response characteristics. Chlorophyll in green leaves has two strong absorption valleys in the visible light band of 0.5-0.7 μm, and the reflectivity is generally less than 20%; but in the near-infrared band of 0.7-1.3 μm, due to the mesophyll There are many cavities in the spongy tissue structure with large reflective surfaces and high reflectivity. The main factors affecting the reflectance of plants include chlorophyll, cell structure and water content.
